All cosmetic products sold or given away in the UK must be notified in the UK.
To continue to sell or give away cosmetic products that were notified to the European Union (EU) before 1 January 2021, you must submit your product notifications in the UK within 90 days of the UK leaving the EU – that is by 31 March 2021.
Currently products in Northern Ireland are still represented via the EU’s CPNP. Products for sale in the England, Scotland and Wales are represented on the GB OPSS portal.

Below is our guide which takes you through all the steps required to register your product.
Once you click the link above you will be taken to this screen:
You will need to replace ‘Your Company LTD’ with your actual company name. Then your email.
The portal will then show you this message. Click the link to proceed.
Enter your preferred mobile number into this box and create a password of your choice.
Have a read of the terms and conditions and the privacy policy and click
‘I confirm’.
Click ‘Continue’.
If this is your first time in the OPSS Portal, click
‘No, I need to create an account’.
Are you a business or an individual?
Now enter your UK Responsible person details.
Fill in the correct details for your company.
Add your cosmetic products to the portal.
If the EU has been notified, click
‘Yes’
Please enter information manually.
Was your product notified in the EU before 1st January 2021.
Enter the exact product name.
Do you wish to add an internal reference?
Is this product a multi-item kit?
Is the product available in different shades?
Choose the correct physical form of the product.
Does your product contain Nanomaterials?
What category does your product fit under?
You will need to select another category, the example below is skin products – this will vary depending on what you have selected for the initial category.
Please click
‘Other skin products’ if necessary.
Select how you would like to give formulations for the products.
You will then need to select or add formulations depending on what you selected above.
What is the PH of your product?
Congratulations! You have completed the entry for your product!
You can then add additional products following the same process if needed.
