Why choose Oxford Biosciences
Experienced assessors and companies capable of delivering a thorough CPSR are scarce. CPSRs grounded in genuine practical experience are rarer still. Our CPSRs have been setting the standard for the industry since 2013.
Oxford Biosciences is not a regulatory consultancy that contracts the scientific work out. We are the scientists, safety assessors, laboratory specialists and formulation experts doing the work.
Scientific expertise in-house
The strength of a safety assessment ultimately rests on the expertise of the people making the judgement.
Our team brings together clinical pharmacology, toxicology, human pharmacokinetics, analytical science, microbiology, formulation science and practical laboratory experience. That expertise sits within Oxford Biosciences and is directly available to our clients.
When a formulation, toxicological or regulatory question arises, our clients can speak directly to the expert qualified to answer it. There is no additional consultancy layer between the brand and the science.
Three in-house laboratories
We operate three of our own laboratories for analytical, microbiological, stability and compliance work.
The data supporting an assessment are generated by our scientists and pass directly to the assessors who interpret them. The methods used, the provenance of the data and their relevance to the safety conclusion are therefore understood throughout the process.
This integration of laboratory science and safety assessment is fundamental to the way Oxford Biosciences works.
Global regulatory support
Our reach is global.
In the United Kingdom, European Union and United States we operate through Oxford Biosciences companies established in each market. Elsewhere, including the GCC, we work with established legal and regulatory partners to provide local representation and market access.
This allows international brands to work with one scientific organisation across multiple jurisdictions, while local requirements are handled within the regulatory framework of each market.
Our regulatory team continuously tracks changes to cosmetic legislation around the world so that assessments, labelling and market-access decisions reflect the rules actually in force.
Responsible Person infrastructure
The Responsible Person is more than an administrative address. In the UK and EU, it is the legally designated entity standing behind the product for regulatory compliance, and its name and address appear on the product itself.
Where Oxford Biosciences acts as Responsible Person, the name on the label belongs to an established scientific and regulatory organisation with its own assessors, laboratories and compliance infrastructure.
For an international brand, that distinction matters. The organisation identified on the product should reinforce confidence in the regulatory structure behind it, not merely satisfy a legal requirement.
Our UK, EU and US Responsible Person services are provided through Oxford Biosciences companies established in the relevant jurisdictions and integrated with the same scientific, laboratory and regulatory teams supporting the product.
Direct access when it matters
Regulatory support is most valuable when something does not go according to plan.
Our clients have direct access to the scientists and regulatory specialists responsible for their products, whether the issue concerns a formulation, an authority enquiry, a laboratory result, a label, a Product Information File or entry into a new market.
We do not simply prepare documentation and hand it back. We remain available to support the product and the client when questions arise.
Experience at scale
Since 2013, Oxford Biosciences has prepared safety assessments for more than 63,355 cosmetic products for over 5,000 brands.
Those clients range from founders bringing a first product to market to major international companies with extensive portfolios. Many begin with a single assessment and remain with us as their ranges, businesses and markets grow.
Since 2013, our assessments have helped set the standard for cosmetic safety assessment, combining regulatory compliance with a level of scientific rigour recognised by the authorities that have examined them.
Exceptional value
Scientific depth, laboratory infrastructure and direct expert access should not require consultancy-level pricing.
Our CPSR pricing starts at Β£70, and the same scientific standards apply whether we are assessing a single product for an independent founder or supporting an international brand across multiple markets.
Oxford Biosciences was built to combine exceptional scientific and regulatory expertise with exceptional value.
